On Being Rejected by Christ...

Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ (Matthew 7)

If you knew without a doubt that Jesus Christ was returning to earth TOMORROW at 1:00 to take those who are his home, would it change the way you live? Would it change the way you respond to sin?

-Would you still give in to that temptation to get a sexual massage?

-Would you still give in to visiting THAT website? You know the one.

-Would you still give in to lusting over that girl in line ahead of you?

-Would you be more patient with you wife and children?

-Would you treat the people that cross your path more kindly?

-Would be more gracious toward those less fortunate?

-Would you read your Bible more?

-Would you pray more?

-Would it change your priorities in any way?

I know we all struggle with sin but If you answered that your priorities would change if you knew that Jesus was coming back tomorrow... is there a chance that Jesus would say to you, "Get away from me, I dont know you!" when you look him in the face for the very first time?

Honestly take a moment to imagine that scene. If you were to stand before Jesus tomorrow and look into his face. Would you be filled with shame? Is there a chance he would reject you? Or would he say "Welcome good and faithful servant who did the will of my Father!" You can't do the will of the Father AND break the laws of God at the same time. You must choose to do one or the other. And you are choosing every time.

I am not talking about stumbling into sin and then repenting. I am talking about deliberately choosing to sin. Something you do habitually and make excuses for. Something you justify to yourself. Something you minimize and never really deal with because you are covered by grace? Is THAT sin the will of the Father?

What is the Holy Spirit speaking to you about right now? Let's be men and deal with it. Decisively.

Fight! Every. Day.
