Blah Blah Blah...

For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power. Which do you choose? (1 Corinthians 4:20-21)

In Luke 17 Jesus tells us that the kingdom of God is within you and I as believers. Here in Corinthians Paul tells us that the kingdom of God is manifested not by the words we say but by living by the power of the kingdom of God within us. If our actions don't match our words then the implications is one of two things.

  1. Either we are not saved and the kingdom of God is not resident in us or...

  2. We have CHOSEN NOT to manifest the power of the kingdom of God in and through our life.

Most Christians think once they say the salvation prayer that God does all the work of changing our hearts, removing all our fleshly desires. In one sense this is very true however we still have freedom of choice. Every day we have freedom of choice. We do not become robots.

When we choose to marry we commit ourselves to one mate for the rest of our lives. Many men think that in marrying lust will disappear. Anyone who has been married for long knows this is not true. No matter how wonderful or beautiful the woman we marry we don't become married love robots with no will of our own. Men are still tempted by the attractions of the flesh. Every day a man will have opportunity to be unfaithful and he must choose his path.

Once we have committed to God, it is the same with accessing the power of God in our lives to live according to his desires for us. We have to choose to participate and our choice is the determining factor in the manifestation of the kingdom in us.

It doesn't always happen immediately but without out participation and choice we will inevitably follow the desires of the flesh whether it be food, drink, sex, anger, insecurity, fear etc.

  1. Do you consciously choose every day to follow Jesus?

  2. Is the kingdom of God being manifest in your life?

  3. Would your wife or closest friends agree?

  4. How can you more willfully choose Jesus each day?

Fight! Every. Day.
