"Then..they will remember me. They will recognize how hurt I am by their unfaithful hearts and lustful eyes...Then at last they will hate themselves for all their detestable sins. They will know that I alone am the Lord and that I was serious when I said I would bring this calamity on them." Ezekiel 6
"The earnest attempt to listen and obey will be rewarded....with the painful discovery of two things. The one is the depth of pride, unwillingness to consider oneself and to be considered nothing, to submit absolutely to God...the other is what utter weakness there is in all our efforts, and also in all our prayers for Gods help to destroy the hideous monster. Blessed is the man who learns to put his hope in God and to persevere" - Andrew Murray, Humility and Exaltation
Why doesn't our sin "hurt" us as it hurts our savior? We should pray that we would see our sin as God, the lover of our soul does. If we did it would break our hearts wide open.
