“Now, my son, may the lord be with you and give you success as you follow his directions in building the Temple of the lord your God. And may the lord give you wisdom and understanding, that you may obey the Law of the lord your God as you rule over Israel. For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart! (1 Chronicles 22)
In this verse King David is telling his young son Solomon that he is going to build the holy temple of the Lord. He is encouraging him to be brave of heart and that God almighty will bless him if if is careful to obey the Lord.
I am sure this was a serious moment for Solomon and the young lad must have daydreamed about the importance of his future as children will do. What Kind David did was plant the seeds of purpose and vision in his young son.
Did anyone plant seeds of purpose and vision in you? So many young men today are't given any clear vision or purpose for their lives other than what is instilled to them through modern media and they are going up empty and passive. Without a life purpose beyond yourself a man's heart eventually withers from chasing dead ends. Maybe you have experienced this. I have. Surrender to God is the only place to find eternal purpose.
Do you know your purpose?
Have you ever really surrendered to God and asked him why you are here?
What are the Godly men around you seeing in you?
Who are you planting seeds of purpose into?
Until you find the reason God put you here you are at best treading water. Get alone with him and find out what he has for you. This requires time in his presence. Make it happen.
